The November 2024 Full Moon will have the greatest impact on those people with important planets in the late degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius, the Fixed Signs. People with ascendant, midheaven, IC or descendant at these degrees may also feel significant impact.

However, Uranus has been loitering around Algol’s territory for months. The topics discussed are likely ones that are not entirely new to most of us- this full moon will just bring all of this to a head. The Sun and the Moon are the Luminaries of our creation, the most powerful ruling archetypes of fertility, and they bring the mythological stories into manifestation.

It is also notable that the first actual conjunction between Algol and Uranus was in the company of Mars, right around July 13, 2024.

It does not help, in this case, that the ruler of Scorpio, Mars, is coming to a grinding halt about to go retrograde. The War God loves to advance in his campaigns, and this battle has reached an entrenched standstill. But this reversal actually signifies a major turning of the tides. Sometimes Mars comes out of a retrograde with a ferocity and focus that cannot be found in the beginning of the campaign.

The Full Moon will be in Taurus. Just as we look to Mars to see how Scorpio is faring, we need to look to Taurus’ ruler to understand that territory.

The ruler of Taurus, Venus, is in the early degrees of Capricorn at the Full Moon, where she is ruled by Saturn. Venus in Capricorn plays by Saturns’ rules: she is barren, colder, less emotional, more compliant and conservative than in other places- though she may be more cunning, less willing to show her hand, and more consumed by the Will to Power.

The Life Force is in the Root of the Tree of Life in Capricorn, and Venus is the Mother of the Life Force. She looks to past patterns and relationships to see what is coming in the future.

Venus enjoys an elevated status in Capricorn: she is Received here due to the exalted status she grants to Saturn in her sign of Libra.

Saturn always points us back to the Goddess, back to the Earth.

Lunations such as this that feature conflicted and complex energies rooted in deep human history are not necessarily bad or dangerous- just as snake venom is overtly toxic and feared by most, in the hands of a masterful healer or magus it can heal, or even bring us into a state or extraordinary power. Those people who live on the surface level of reality will often have a radically different experience than those who are willing to plumb the depths of humanity, both our bodies and our minds.

This means looking deeply into human stories with a desire to break through our calcified ideas and conditioned triggers to confront our naked essence.

Often the archetypal planets and fixed stars are far more complex and meaningful than modern astrologers can possibly imagine, even those of us who pursue deep knowledge of the craft. Only a profound reading of mythology combined with a desire to truly understand the depth of the ancient world will give astrology the life it deserves.
