PERSEPHONE’S ZODIAC redux
There is an underlying theology behind the Zodiac.
This will never be apparent unless you see its Bacchic roots.
Before the Cross came to represent the martyred gynomorph Jesus, it was the symbol of the four seasons, representing the 4 cardinal points of the year- the Solstices and the Equinoxes.
The Zodiac tracks the Life Force through the seasons. This Life Force is represented by Bacchus himself, or Dionysus, or Osiris, or one of the many other dying and rising Gods.
Most of these Gods are bigendered or androgynes. Baphomet is a later iteration of this archetype that unequivocally shows who this is.
They all point back to the Great Goddess.
Bacchus is shepherded (he is depicted as part-goat, part human after all) through the seasons by the archetypal planetary gods who rule the Signs. The rulers and exaltation rulers of the Cardinal points hold a coded language of the Fertile Year and Solar/Lunar Year.
This gynomorphic rising and dying god is like the Fool of the Tarot.
Mercury has some aspects in common with this unnamed yet ever-present character, but this is not Mercury. Mercury is the archetype who is best able to track this Force of Nature.
Zodiacs were central to many early Judaic synagogues and Christian churches even up until the 11th century.
When Jesus is seen for what he really is, a direct correlate to Bacchus, we can understand why the Life Force is crucified on the Cross of the Zodiac. The Life Force is brought into life and then dies, like all these Gods.
We can also see why Bacchus/ Dionysus/ Baphomet was demonized by the Christian establishment. The archetype was entirely coopted.
