REFLECTIONS ON LUCIFER

Deeper investigation of the Lucifer brings many revelations:

Lucifer is a title, not the name of an individual. Lucifer is a function within a narrative arc. We are constantly getting lost in identity and losing ourselves in narrative devices that obfuscate and incapacitate us, exactly mirroring the story of the Lucifer.

We want a Fixed Hero in a simple story that allows us to remain children in our construct of the world. Light is Good, we say; Banish the Dark.

Christ was referred to as the Lucifer in early writings, because this basic level of understanding of narrative arc was common. Gods were Functional within a story arc: this is the teaching of traditional mythology at it’s core.

Thor is the god of Thunder, but within the narrative arc he is often a stand in for the Mind; Loki is the Trickster, the Shaman of the Gods, but he’s a functional stand in for Passion; Odin is the All Father, the Human Breath and Spirit, consciousness itself personified, an apostasy for Spirit. These Gods would be portrayed as traveling together in foreign lands.  These 3 aspects of Human consciousness are shown through allegory to require one another and to find balance in order to defeat and overcome adversity brought by challenges that are endemic to creation- as perceived through the senses and the 3 aspects of human consciousness that these characters represent.

The Father, The Son and the Holy Ghost.

If you are a Christian and speaking of these characters in this way offends you, please understand that the literal, historical character of Jesus is being used as a subversion of this  understanding of Function within Narrative. Jesus subverts his own Authority constantly, most of Jesus’ teachings are intended to clarify that Authority sits with Truth, not with an individual.

Lucifer’s story echoes that of Prometheus: he brings light to Man. That light is the fire of the kiln, of the hearth, of the smith’s forge that can yield the sword or the plowshare.  Prometheus is punished eternally for this Hubris against the Gods: Zeus condemns him to chains- slavery, subjugation to Authority- having his liver ripped out every day by an Eagle, a force of Nature (Natural Law, Consequence, also a common stand in for Death, the wings of the Eagle generate the wind that manifests as the perpetual motion of the universe). While I don’t recommend completely limiting oneself to any single interpretation of these symbols, the Liver is a filter (for knowledge), it was common for the soothsayers of ancient times to ritually sacrifice an animal to read it’s liver, a type of divination. The liver is also associated with Zeus/ Jupiter in medical astrology. It is ripped from within to discover what is without- as above, so below. The liver regenerates daily, Prometheus is reborn each day- here the Day is the entire Human Life. Each “generation” repeats the story.

The day is a regeneration of the Sun, emerging from darkness. Have the rays of light “left” or fallen from the Sun, or are they the Sun itself?

Lucifer, we are told, is Fallen, yet what is his Source?

When the metaphorical light has fallen, it is divorced from Source- the Sun (son). We have the term ”gaslighting” that very clearly illustrates the way in which the Light can be used to subvert and degrade the ability to access the Truth. Light derived from a gas burning lamp is useful, but no matter how many times I tell you that the lamp is the Sun- it is not. However, I can play upon your psychology to make you functionally unable to or entirely resistant to finding the Truth- discriminating the difference between the lamp and the Sun. It does not even necessarily require an external force or overtly nefarious intention to succumb to gaslighting- light divorced from Source, seen out of context, can create a simulacrum when the arc of narrative is subverted by manipulation. That manipulation can come from programming that we receive- indoctrination that gives us a Rigid, Fixed Cosmology, set and rigid ideas of how the Universe works that place Authority out of alignment with Truth, or deny the existence of an objective Truth altogether.

The Story of the Sun is the story of the Year, for humans on earth. The earth has seasons. The story of the seasons is a typology that grounds us in who we are.

And yet, he Story of the Universe is not the Universe.

The Tao you can speak of is not the eternal Tao.

The two extremes of Blinding Light and Total Darkness are functionally the same. The ideas of light and dark are never absolutes and exist on a continuum, as do heat and cold. The Tao instructs that an extreme manifestation of Yang necessarily becomes Yin, and vice versa.

All of the senses can be subject to the same potential for delusion (de-from/ Luce-light, moving away from Source light). Deception and delusion potentiate the hijack of consciousness, and are basic tenets of the control agenda that descends upon us. Many flavorings we find in Corporate Food are derived artificially: vanilla flavor can be derived from actual vanilla bean, or from the anal glands of a beaver, or entirely artificially. The perception of vanilla may fool the mind, but it does not fool the body- but if we never know, or forget what “real” vanilla is- then what is vanilla?. The Left Brain construct alone cannot tell the difference without input from the Right Brain complex, which feels the substance on an energetic level but would tend to simply accept the situation uncritically.  

The Left Brain may even be dazzled by the magnificence of the deception.

Mind and Passion can come into conflict with one another; Spirit emerges as the bridge between the two, reconciling these forces to create the larger picture (All Father). The Spirit provides Imagination, filtering and uniting 2 streams of knowledge that are easily misled and corrupted with intuition, reason, and conscience. Spirit is dependent upon the two to integrate the data for the 3rd to exist.

The Son (Sun) came to Earth to teach. The only actual teaching was the Example. Lucifer is neutral, in principle if not in deed, but Satan is the Opposer.
